“Granny Weatherwax was often angry. She considered it one of her strong points. Genuine anger was one of the world’s great creative forces. But you had to learn how to control it. That didn’t mean you let it trickle away. It meant you dammed it, carefully, let it develop a working head, let it drown whole valleys of the mind and then, just when the whole structure was about to collapse, opened a tiny pipeline at the base and let the iron-hard steam of wrath power the turbines of revenge.”

I hate the hot takes about the incel movement that posit that we have to recognise these men come from a place of profound self-hatred and sadness.

Like? I don’t give a fuck? They’re externalising that self-hatred and talking about how they want to rape, kill, and disfigure women. I don’t care about their emotional turmoil. I don’t care about their delusions about their own worthlessness and ugliness.

Their bad attitude towards women is solidly the reason they can’t find a relationship. It’s not their looks, it’s not the genetic lottery dealing them a bad hand, it’s the fact that women can generally smell that level of virulent misogyny on men.
