#it’s funny because buffy was already dead in her mind before the master killed her #as soon as she was called she died #and the prophecy was just confirming that inevitability #when buffy says ”i’m 16 i don’t want to die” she was protesting the calling she was protesting her slayerness #the prophecy was just the confirmation of a death she’d already lived through #(the death of her normal life – the death of anything except ‘the slayer’) #which is why it was so easy for her to walk up to the master and say ‘kill me’ #because she was already living every day as if she had already died (via astonishman)
