My heart, darling heart
Dear heart
I miss you.
And, I have, since you
Forgot me
And cracked open my
Finger tips
Until you slipped, between them, onto the sidewalk
Beneath.
But, you see, the cement was rather fresh
And you and I, we were dusty.
We were ancient.
And so, you are there
Imprinted.
Imposter.
And I regret walking on
And, often, I will take that path home
And I will find myself rather
Empty.
Rather
Defeated.
And I search, but you are only and imprint.
Imposter.
And I miss you.
And if there is an afterlife
And if there are dreams
I will probablyMost certainly
Miss you there, too.
